Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Aline, including our websites, apps, AI phone agents, phone and web test calls, public verification pages, billing features, and integrations. By using Aline, you agree to these Terms.

Who may use Aline

You must be able to form a binding contract and use Aline only for lawful business purposes. If you use Aline for a company, workspace, client, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

The service

Aline helps businesses create AI phone agents that answer calls, collect caller details, provide information from business-approved knowledge, summarize calls, support booking workflows, and provide public identity verification through Aline IDs.

Aline may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue features at any time. Some features depend on third parties such as Supabase, Twilio, LiveKit, Deepgram, OpenAI, Dodo Payments, Cal.com, hosting providers, and phone carriers.

Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for your account, workspace members, business information, agent instructions, knowledge-base content, phone numbers, integrations, and all activity under your account.
  • You must provide accurate business information and keep your agent instructions, caller disclosures, booking settings, phone-number routing, and knowledge-base content current.
  • You are responsible for complying with laws that apply to your use of Aline, including laws about call recording, caller consent, telemarketing, telephone consumer protection, privacy, data protection, accessibility, industry licensing, professional advice, and consumer protection.
  • You must not use Aline to mislead callers about who is calling, impersonate others, hide a business identity, generate unlawful communications, harass people, collect sensitive data without a lawful basis, or violate third-party rights.
  • You must review agent behavior and outputs before relying on them for important decisions or customer commitments.

AI outputs and agent behavior

AI phone agents and summaries can be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or unexpected. Aline does not guarantee that AI outputs will be correct, lawful for your specific use case, or suitable for every caller or situation. You are responsible for testing, monitoring, configuring, and supervising agents before and after they go live.

Emergency services

Aline is not an emergency service, emergency calling system, medical hotline, crisis line, public-safety system, or substitute for human emergency response. You must not use Aline for emergency services, and do not use Aline to place emergency calls. Agents should instruct callers to contact local emergency services when a caller reports an emergency.

Calls, recordings, and caller notice

You are responsible for providing any required notices and obtaining any required consents before using Aline to answer, record, transcribe, summarize, analyze, or route calls. This includes consent and notice requirements for call recording, caller consent, telemarketing, AI disclosure, SMS, email, appointment booking, and processing caller data. You must not use Aline where doing so would violate caller rights or applicable law.

Billing and subscriptions

Paid plans, checkout sessions, customer portals, subscriptions, and payment events are processed through Dodo Payments and related providers. Prices, included usage, limits, and plan features may change. You are responsible for taxes and charges associated with your plan. Unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable. Canceling a paid plan may reduce or disable paid features at the end of the current billing period.

Third-party services and integrations

Aline may connect to third-party services, carriers, APIs, model providers, payment processors, and booking tools. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, provider changes, phone-number availability, carrier filtering, model output, or integration behavior outside Aline control.

Customer content and permissions

You keep ownership of content you provide to Aline. You grant Aline the permissions needed to host, copy, transmit, process, analyze, display, and use that content to provide, secure, support, and improve Aline. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide content and caller data to Aline and its service providers.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use Aline to violate law, platform rules, carrier rules, these Terms, or the rights of others.
  • Do not attempt to bypass security, rate limits, billing gates, identity checks, public verification controls, or plan limits.
  • Do not upload malware, unlawful content, regulated data you are not authorized to process, or content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Do not resell, copy, reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with Aline except as allowed by law or a written agreement.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how Aline collects, uses, shares, and protects information. By using Aline, you agree that Aline may process information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

Aline is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, accuracy, and reliability. We do not guarantee that calls, phone numbers, AI outputs, transcripts, summaries, bookings, integrations, or public verification pages will always work or be error free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aline will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, caller disputes, carrier actions, or third-party service failures. Our total liability for claims related to Aline is limited to the amounts you paid to Aline for the service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Aline if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for Aline or others, failed to pay, caused carrier or provider problems, or used Aline unlawfully. You may stop using Aline at any time. Some terms, including payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute provisions, survive termination.

Governing law and disputes

Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and Aline will try to resolve disputes informally first by contacting privacy@aline.app.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last-updated date. Questions can be sent to privacy@aline.app.
